Anticipation guide
anticipation guide response 2
Society makes a person whatever he becomes:
I agree, because a person is a part of a community where he needs to survive, so he needs to become a part of society by doing what he is told to do (not slavery just following the laws) and fit in. He is also shaped by how he is treated in society, if he is a hobo tramp begging for money so he can go get a pack of cigarettes or alcohol, and then he will be treated with disrespect and hated. On the other hand if he was a working class citizen and did his duties as well as paid his debts and was nice to everyone then he would be respected and would have more friends. If there was a rich business man who owned oil companies and did nothing all day but play in a casino he would only be respected with his kind.

Enjoying life is more important than pursuing fame, glory, and knowledge:
I agree with this statement with a variety of things. By the perspective of a student I think that play/fun are two major things in a person’s life and lead a person to success if you balance it out with your work. Don’t use too much of one thing because then you will not enjoy life and be successful in life. Enjoying yourself sometimes helps you relax you brain your body so you can store the information you learned and then give space to the new information. For example people who have fame (Angelina Jolie, Megan fox, etc) don’t have a lot of fun because they are chased by paparazzi in public places. So they go into private properties where they will be left in peace, but not necessarily happy. They have all they want but they are alone and spend their time in misery because they can’t have a normal relationship. This does not represent fun. To devour fame and knowledge you need to equally enjoy life.

Araby - Anticipation guide
I agree because if there is more money then you will be more relaxed and more unpressured. He will be living in luxury more and a better life which is not as tense. He can almost do anything. He can go study in the best schools, buy and afford anything he likes (house, car, property, etc.) and do more providing for his family.
2. In romance, good looks and personality will outweigh social class and background:
I disagree because religion, ethnicity, and class play a big role. If you are Christian it is highly unlikely to marry a Muslim. As well as if you are rich and educated you wouldn’t marry a poor uneducated person. And last of all if your family is one ethnicity you wouldn’t suddenly marry another ethnicity person.

mice and man anticipation guide response
Feeling responsible for someone else is a burden?
I agree because, the person responsible is the person who often makes mistakes or get nervous, thus the person responsible will get tired easily and angry. For Example: Parents are responsible for their children. Not only that, they are also responsible for their jobs, home, car, food, cloths, and 1000 other things. Children usually don’t make things easier especially if they are smaller and always energetic. When the parent comes home from work tired he/she has to get first his/her kid from school/nursery, and go home and cook.
It is more acceptable for women to love their female friends than it is from men to love their male friends?
I agree because, the men think of love differently and women don’t think of that. When a man thinks of only women showing that kind of loves then they are stereotype. In the world as west as you go the more stereotypes the men are.
Sometimes killing another person (mercy killing) would be ok if it means putting them out of their misery?
I disagree because, it is against god to kill or murder a person. It is also better for the person to die from his own instead of another person taking his life.

poem by j.r.r. tolkien
In western lands beneath the Sun
The flowers may rise in Spring,
The trees may bud, the waters run,
The merry finches sing.
Or there maybe 'tis cloudless night,
And swaying branches bear
The Elven-stars as jewels white
Amid their branching hair.
Though here at journey's end I lie
In darkness buried deep,
Beyond all towers strong and high,
Beyond all mountains steep,
Above all shadows rides the Sun
And Stars for ever dwell:
I will not say the Day is done,
Nor bid the Stars farewell.

dowries z
Have you ever wondered what a dowry is? If you haven’t then here are some explanations of what they mean. A dowry is the wealth brought from the bride’s family to the groom. However, if the bride does not give her wealth to her husband, she will be harassed, abused and even burned to death. If you are shocked please continuo to read…
It was said that in the olden times if a woman past away without having sons, the husband had to give back the money and give it back to their family. However if the family was born with sons and the woman doesn’t die, they get to keep their dowry. It has been said that the dowry is a form of protection for the wife because the husband might treat the wife badly so that’s the protection. If the husband and wife had a disagreement about the wedding, the dowry could call it off. Folklorists say that “Cinderella” has a form of dowry, because when Cinderella was conceived her dad was rich, however when he died the money was given to the stepmother and her family.
There are many forms of Dowries, one form of a dowry is, land dowry. For example: when the mom dies without a son, she is forced to give her land away to her step-son, and the step-son would inherit the land. In 1961, Dowries were common in India because they were used a lot to have some sort of protection against the husband for treatment issues. If the bride does not gift the dowry to the groom, they are often harassed, abused and they even may burn the bride by poring kerosene on her which usually finishes the job. The dowries murder in India increased. In 1988, 2,209 women were killed in dowry related incidents.
In India, 90% of dowry killings were women being burned. They were recorded as accidents to ovoid the law. 5% was suicide and 5% was shown as murder. You can see how cruel these people are. According to the government, there were a total of 5,377 dowry deaths in 1993. To this day, dowry killings still happen in Hamipur, Mundi and Bali spur.
Finally, dowries were meant to show a kind perspective towards the groom because if the bride didn’t give a dowry to the groom the groom will take it the wrong way and will start to abuse and maybe even burn the bride. So ladies, if you want to be polite and don’t want to die, try and give your wealth to your newly wed.
